Classical guitar is one of my deepest musical passions and most of my formal training is in this area. The sound is produced by using a combination of fingernails and flesh of the right hand as opposed to using a pick. Using this technique on a nylon string instrument (as opposed to steel strings) lends the sound a soft, rich, dark, mellow tone capable of great expression. My former teachers have included Nicholas Goluses (Eastman School of Music), Claire Callahan (Cincinnati Conservatory), Christopher Berg (University of South Carolina), Marc Regnier (College of Charleston), James Ferla (Carnegie Mellon Preparatory Department)and masterclasses with Pepe Romero, David Russell, and William Kanengeiser.
