Winter Weddings

One of the advantages to living in such a mild climate is that we can enjoy the outdoors year round. Ive actually had outdoor weddings starting in December at White Point Gardens, Middleton Plantation, and Pawleys Island Gazebo at Nosh's Restaurant,  then one in February at Magnolia Plantation. White Point Gardens was mid december for a gifted musician colleague Joe Clark who wrote much of the music for his wedding. We used an unusual combination of double bass (Roman Pekar), cellist Andrew Mille and of course me playing the guitar. It was sunny and very windy but really beautiful!

Middleton Plantation was cold and a bit rainy. It did not stop us from having a very different ceremony where Tacy Edwards and I performed in 17th century costumes! This was of course at the request of the Bride and Groom.

The Gazebo at Nosh's Restaurant at Pawleys Island was freezing! It was solo guitar and it was very difficult to play so the ceremony was brief and then we went inside the restaurant for a cocktail hour. Inside of Nosh's is a truly elegant environment. Seems like it would be well worth your while stopping by the restaurant and hammock shops if you are ever headed that way.

The last outdoor wedding was just last weekend with cellist Andrew Mille. It was actually a wedding giveaway. I don't know all the details of how it came about but the couple won the wedding and all the vendors donated their services. We got a lot of compliments from the guests about our cello and guitar duo. It has a very different mellow sound to it because of the lower range of the cello.

I did not get pictures from all these places as my first priority is playing music!
